Monster boy!

And this one is for George from his brothers. Finally made a card with a stamped image that I was happy with. Love, love, love this stamp! Thankyou, Clare, for helping me find it :-) I'm going to have fun with this one for years!

Flying rocket card

I can't believe my middle-sized boy (I'm not allowed to call him little) is going to be 4 tomorrow! We've bought him a huge space rocket toy (Shhh! Don't tell him!) so staying with that theme I made this card for him. He loves any kind of lift-the-flap or touchy feely card so I thought this would be right up his street! The rocket is able to "fly" round the top section of the card because it's attached to a strip of card, secured to main picture by the brad in the middle of the rocket. Hope you like it - I loved making it!

Mellow yellow

I love the calm, relaxed feeling you get from the colours in this card. Yellow is so easy to work with now that all those lovely Spring themed goodies are in the shops. I'll definitely be using more of it over my next few projects... And a pat on the back for managing another card without pink :-) I've also had my new stamps arrive - yeah! I just need a bit more time to experiment with them before one of my projects finally makes it on to here. I'm not the world's most accomplished stamper. Oh well, practice makes perfect I suppose. Wish me luck! Any and all colouring technique suggestions welcome...

With love xx

I bought some chipboard shapes a while back that I like to use as templates for cutting out different shaped flowers. This one is my favourite... Looking at it now, I wish I'd cut a circle in another coloured paper for the centre to make it stand out a bit - too late now! I've posted it! And yes, I know, it's pink. But the next one isn't! :-)

Ok, so there's a little bit of pink :-)

A birthday card for Paul's Mum. By this time it was getting a little late so I reverted to my tried and tested method - lovely Daisy and Dandelion coloured sticker, and yes, a bit of pink! Love these stickers... really cute... Tired now... Off to bed.

Night, night!

Not-a-pink-girly card

I've had a really lovely day spending some time with my sister, nephew and neice today - it was fab. And then I had a really un-fab evening :-( I am NOT a fan of teenagers at the moment. Anyway... I needed to cheer myself up so I thought I'd have a go at my not-a-pink card challenge. This is the result! I'm quite pleased with it cos I think the colours go really well together (thankyou for the inspiration, Carlyann!) although whether I'd be happy to send it to a female or not, I'm not sure... What do you think?

Happy Valentine's Day

Okay so our night out yesterday didn't quite go according to plan thanks to a really nasty tummy bug (sorry, Dulce!) and I'm really not sure I'm going to be able to cook, nevermind eat, the wonderful Valentine's Day meal I had planned but that doesn't stop me wishing Paul a happy Valentine's Day - I love you! It's a good thing I'd made the card in plenty of time. And it's not pink! These monochrome papers are quickly becoming firm favourites of mine. And the cute little buttons. Love 'em. Hope everyone has a fab day.

Take care,
Mel xx

Thinking of you...

Following the success of yesterday's use-a-template card, I've used another of Clare Curd's templates from Issue 18 of Docrafts Creativity magazine. I'm quite pleased with the results... I'm slightly worried, however, that I may be overdoing the pink. My own personal challenge is to make some cards over the next few days which are not pink! (At least not completely - go on, Mel. You can do it!) Wish me luck and watch this space for the results.

Take care,

Dulce's Birthday Card

Okay... I'm going to have to stop. I do have other things to do today aswell! This is a birthday card for my friend Dulce made with the gorgeous Papermania Capsule Collection Mono papers and a chipboard stencil. I love using these papers with a hint of colour - very effective.
Hope you like it,
Mel xx

This is it!

So... after a long time deliberating, I've finally decided to set up a blog - thanks to some encouragement from my new pal, Clare. Thanks, Clare! I'm hoping it's going to encourage me to start scrapbooking a bit more because my photos are really starting to pile up. I've got so many of them thanks to my beautiful children: Marc, 14, George, 3 and Charlie, 10 months. When I look back at my previous attempts I'm not really very happy with them (so you won't be seeing them on here!) and I want to do something special with them so I'm proud enough to show everyone I meet.
Anyway, I'm going to start off with the card I made last night for Clare Curd's Facebook Template Challenge. I'm really pleased with it. See what you think. It's for Paul's Mom and Dad for babysitting for us when we go for a night out on Saturday - our first since Charlie was born. Well overdue!
Take care,
Mel xx
