A bit of black and white.....

Hiya! Just a quick post cos I'm taking the littl'un swimming in a bit :-) Another lovely Tilda - another purchase from the NEC :-) Coloured as usual with promarkers and some sparkley glitter. The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection, the embossing is my Victorian Fleur folder, my current favourite Xcut leafy lace border punch, flowers also bought at the NEC, gems and ribbon from my stash. The gems on stalks (what am I supposed to call them???) are a pressie from my crafty buddy and ex-teaching pal, Yvonne (thankyou!).

A close up of the sparkley bits :-)

The challenges I'm entering this into are:
Paperplay Challenges - Back to black
Moving Along with the Times - Flowers and fab sketch
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Black and white and one other colour
Crafty Cardmakers - Floral
Passion for Promarkers - Let it shine

Hope you like!

Have a magical birthday!

Hiya! Hope you're all having a lovely day like I am! A blog award this morning, some friends popped round for a cuppa and a natter and then a lovely afternoon catching up on all your lovely blogs :-) And then I find I have a few new followers too! Thankyou so much - I'll be popping over to visit you shortly!

I had a bit of fun with this card... I have used a Sugar Nellie image, Maggie the Christmas Fairy (available here) but I think she can be used for birthdays aswell as Christmas!

I've used my promarkers, some glitter gel pen and some glitter glue on her wings and the trim of her dress.

The papers and gems are Henbury Lane, the lacey heart border punch is from Xcut and the embossing folder is Victorian Fleur from Papermania. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is a Daisy and Dandelion clear stamp.

I'm entering it into the following challenges:
The ABC challenge - M is for Magical (with an optional sketch which means I can enter it twice!)
Sarah Hurley - Birthday girl
Wags 'n' Whiskers - A Fairy Special Challenge (my 2nd entry)

Hope you like it :-)

Pretty in pink....

Ooooh! Two posts in one day..... That doesn't happen very often! :-)

This is the very first time I've managed to ink up my very first Tilda that I bought at the NEC craft show! I was feeling in a pink and girly mood and this is the result!

I coloured her with my promarkers and added some glitter to her tiara and the trim on her dress which you might just be able to see here:

I used my new Xcut leafy lace border punch again - this time I cut it at intervals to be able to make it go around the oval and I'm quite pleased with the results! I've added some flowers and pins that I won from Debs and some ribbon from my stash. The papers are Forever Friends Pink Parfait and Henbury Lane and the sentiment is one of Clare Curd's clear stamps.

Challenges:
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - With Love
Whoopsi Daisy - Pretty in Pink
Just Magnolia - Fab sketch

Hope you like it!

A fairy special challenge.....

Hiya! Hope you're all well and a little warmer than I am at the moment - it's freeeeeezing here! This is the first time I've inked up this little cutie - this is Rosalie from Wags 'n Whiskers Stamps and she's gorgeous to colour!

I've used my promarkers and a little glitter glue - you can see it on her skirt here but you still can't see it on her wings :-( I'm rubbish with a camera!

The papers are Wild Rose Studio and the border punch is my latest purchase - leafy lace from Xcut. I've used my nesties and cut out a sizzix decorative swirl (#2), added a couple of flowers I've still got from last year's birthday (!) and some pearls from ebay.

I'm entering it into the Wags 'n Whiskers challenge which is to use a fairy or an angel.

Hope you like it!

- a Wags 'n' Whiskers stamp (Rhiannon)
- some flowers (paper, felt, and some satin...)
- a selection of varying lengths of ribbon

and a few other bits and bobs I might collect between now and posting day! I'll also include some stamped images.

It'll run until 10th February and I'll announce the winner on 11th February - my blogaversary!

A few rules:
1. Please post a link on your sidebar
2. Leave a comment on this post with your blog address (my linky list was a complete failure!)

A New Baby! And some advance notice.....

Firstly the advance notice..... Next month is my first Blogaversary! As a celebration, I'm going to be putting together a little candy :-) Oooooh! I'm so excited. I've not done this before so I'll be putting a little bit more thought into it before I post about it but watch this space.....!
This card is for a friend of mine who had just had a tiny, little baby girl. And I do mean tiny, little! Born a little earlier than expected and weighing only 4lb 5oz, but doing very well :-) I won this goooorgeous image from Sugar Nellie a while back and I've been dying for a reason to use it! I coloured her with my promarkers and added a little holographic embossing powder for sparkle. The paper is Forever Friends "Hugs and Cuddles" and I've used a new embossing folder I just got on the front of the latest Docrafts mag. The pink thread is from my stash - had it for yeeeears, but all gone now :-( Then I added a swirl which is Sizzix decorative swirl #4 cut on my Bigshot with a little detail using a white gel pen and some pearls from ebay. I decided to make a matching candle gift to go with it and added a little scrap of ribbon around the bottom to finish it off.
Sorry one of the pictures is sideways but they took aaaaages to upload so I wasn't about to delete them and start again!
Challenges:
Sarah Hurley - New beginnings
Saturday Challenge - Tons of texture
Totally gorjuss - Fab sketch (I've turned it on its side)
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - New things (Embossing folder)
Paperplay - Cutie Patootie
Anyway, lots to do and some candy to organise! :-)

Happy 2011!

Happy 2011, everyone!!! I've finally made it back into my craft corner after a lovely, relaxing Christmas :-) Hope you've all had a fab time with your loved ones.....
This fab image was sent to me by Mandy (thankyou!) and I've coloured her with my promarkers. The papers are Wild Rose Studio and I love 'em! I wanted to do something as far from Christmas as I possibly could as I seriously over-did the Christmas cards this... erm.... I mean, last year! So not a hint of any of my Christmas colours and not even a tiny bit of sparkle.
The flowers were for my birthday last year (can't believe I've still got some left!), the ribbon is from my stash and the pearls are from ebay.
Only one challenge because I haven't had time to scout around yet:
Just Magnolia - Anything goes
Love 'n' hugs,
Mel xx
