No peeking, Yvonne and Graham! Dream Valley Challenge 33 - Humour

Hiya,

Firstly I want to make absolutely sure that my good friends Yvonne and Graham aren't looking...... This is your anniversary card and you'll only spoil it by peeking now :-) You can see it in real life soon enough!

Have they gone....? Good.... :-)

Want our Badge

It's time for another challenge at Dream Valley and we would like to see some humour in your projects. And did I have fun making this one, or what :-) I was chuckling away to myself colouring this image....

Now the image doesn't really represent the happy couple - they are far more spritely than the image I've used (available here) but they would definitely appreciate the humour in the sentiment :-) And I know Yvonne will love the glittery hearts.... Here's a close-up of the image...

and one of the sentiment.....

One of our sponsors, Bugaboo, gave us some fab images and sentiments to choose from. I ended up printing out three and wasn't absolutely sure which one I was going to use until the last minute - I love them all!

I used:
Image and sentiment - Bugaboo
Promarkers
Paper - Crafts too!
Ribbon - Crafty ribbons
Glittery hearts and pearls from stash

Challenges:
Moving Along with the Times - Celebrate (no birthday projects)
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes

Now don't forget to go and have a giggle at the fab funny projects made by the rest of the DT over at Dream Valley.... I can't wait to see the entries!

Love 'n' hugs,

40th birthday.....

Hiya!

And an especially big HELLO!to my new followers :-) Nice to have you on board....

I still haven't quite resolved my lack of photo space on blogger/Picasa although I have managed to increase my space by deleting a few duplicate pictures..... And I've also discovered that many of my photos are pushing 2Mb in size!!! But a minor cropping operation in paint can reduce them to 500kb.... I don't understand :-( Thank you to everyone who has offered advice - I really appreciate it. I'm going to explore each option in turn and see if I can find a way around it before I give in to monthly payments! I'll keep you updated....

Anyway, I do have a card to share with you:

One of my fave LOTV images - oh, who am I kidding??? I love them all!

I tried out my most recent purchase.... A sizzix photo corner die - I'm quite pleased!

Challenges:
Cards for Men - Kicking back
Sketch 'n' stash - Fab sketch (ooops! Missed the dealine!)
Paperplay Challenges - Destruction (Iwas just in the mood after my nasty blogger problems!)

Back again soon - and I might get round to posting a piccie of the new car (which is fabulous!) if blogger will let me!

Love 'n' hugs,

Do you pay for your blog???

PLEASE READ.....

Hiya!

Sorry I haven't visited many of your blogs the last few days - I've spent all my computer time looking for an answer to why I could upload a photo to my blog..... I kept getting the message that I'd run out of space and to upgrade and get more space I need to pay $2.49 a month! Following advice from Carole I starting investigating Picasa which apparently is where all my photos are stored (I had no idea....!) One link I followed told me I'd used 60% of my 1Gb that I'm allowed for free. Great, I thought. It's just a mistake and it'll sort itself out soon. However, I've since found another page telling me I've used 99.99% of my space :-( WHAT??? So now I'm thinking I'm going to have to start paying....

So.... Dear blogging pals....

Do You Pay For Your Blogs???

Perhaps for some reason the pictures I use take up more memory than the ones you use? How much of your free space have you used? Try following this link to find out:

If anyone could give me any advice before I bite the bullet and start my subscription I would be very grateful.

Love and hugs,
And yes, my signature does count as a picture and is eating into my final 0.01% of what space I have left! :-(

Help, please....!

What a palaver!

I've never had any trouble uploading photos before but today blogger won't let me upload one specific photo... It says I've run out of free space and would I like to buy some more.... but then it let's me upload other photos no problem at all! Am I eventually going to run out of space completely? What are my options then - will I have to pay monthly to be able to update my blog??? Help! Anyone else had this problem? Was I naive and stupid expecting to be able to run my blog for free? :-( Not a happy bunny!

Anyway, to cheer myself up I'd like to wish my good pal, Lynn, a happy birthday today! This is the card I made for her (it's been ages since I coloured a Tilda!)

Now I know you can't read the sentiment very well - it says "To a Wonderful Friend" and I was going to show you a close-up so you could see it properly but that's the photo blogger won't let me upload :-( It's quite happy, however, to let me show you a close up of Tilda!?!

I paid particular attention to her hair on this one - making use of my fine nibs for my promarkers. I'm quite pleased with myself - the best job I've done yet. I've still got quite a way to go before my colouring is anything like those of you I admire in blogland... but I'm taking baby steps!

Challenges:
Totally Tilda - Princess Tilda in a pink dress
Totally Gorjuss - Pink and Green
Creative Inspirations - CASE it - I took the pink and green colour scheme

Right, I need to go and do some horrible housework before swimming lessons later!

Love 'n' hugs,

Dream Valley Challenge 32 - CASE the DT

Hiya!

This my first attempt at scheduling a post with the new style blogger so fingers crossed it works ok!

It's time for a new challenge at Dream Valley already! Where does the time go??? This time we would like you to CASE the DT. There are a few different interpretations of "CASE" so we thought we would explain what we're looking for...

We want you to Copy And Selectively Edit one of the cards made by the DT and there are some smashers to choose from.... One layer cards, Britannia themed, Christmas.... Make sure you pop over and have a look!

So here's my offering:

This is an anniversary card for my Mom and Step-Dad using my current fave LOTV image. Here's a close-up:

I added oodles of sparkle for this one as I couldn't add many embellies as it needed posting. I did sneak on a butterfly though..... :-)

I used my numbers and letters sizzix dies and my trusty bigshot to provide me with small shapes to decorate the butterfly :-)

So what could you use from my card if you were looking to CASE it??? Well, erm... there's the colour scheme, the layout or perhaps make your own sparkly anniversary card.... There are loads of possibilities! Just remember to mention in your post whose card you have CASED!!! Make sure you check out the lovely creations by the rest of the DT here to give you some fabby inspiration!

Challenges:
CRAFT - Celebration
CES Challenges - Anything goes
Lili's Little Fairies - Your Favourite Craft Tool (my trusty bigshot!)

Just want to quickly thank those lovely ladies over at Moving Along with the Times for choosing the last card I made with this image (you can see it here) in their top 3!!! Woohoo! That really makes my day :-) Thank you so much!!!

 Love 'n' hugs,

Love Grows

Hiya!

This is a card I made for my sister's wedding anniversary last week. I've only just got round to posting it on here because we've been busy looking for a new car :-) How exciting! Hopefully we should have it by the end of the week and I'll be able to show you a nice piccie of it!

I was hoping to get on the pc a little earlier than this but Charlie has given me a right song and dance about walking home from school. He wanted me to carry him but I refused point blank so we had tears and screaming - the works! The looks I got from the passers by.... Sooo embarrassing - but I refuse to give in!

Anyway, back to my card.....

This gorgeous image is another one that I bought using the voucher my pal Clare sent me for Christmas - thank you, Clare!!!!

A close up of the image.....

I used:
Image and sentiment - Love Grows, LOTV
Promarkers
Papers - Me to You
Nesties
Sizzix decorative swirl
Butterfly punch
Pearls from stash

Challenges:
Lili's Little Fairies - Anything goes
Moving along with the times - Summer sunshine

Right, I'm off to take the little man swimming - not really sure that he deserves to go but it might calm him down a bit!

Love 'n' hugs,
