Dream Valley Challenge 87 - Favourite colour combo

Hiya!

Hope you are all well and having a lovely day :-) It's time for another challenge at Dream Valley. This time we would like to see your

favourite colour combinations!

This lilac and turquoise colour scheme is a recent fave of mine thanks to the beautiful paper pad from LOTV. They're so pretty!  I recently made a birthday card for one of Charlie's school friends and his Mum really liked it and so asked me to make a few cards for her. This is the first I have to show you:

A close up of the image. You can just make out the sparkle on her skirt :-)

I love these pretty bunting stamps I have - fab for personalisation :-)

Anyway, I'd better be off. I'm suffering from a distinct lack of sleep after spending a chunk of the night at the hospital with my youngest son, Charlie, after he had a fit last night. It was so scary. If any of you have experience of this sort of thing, please feel free to tell me how everything is alright and I have no need to worry! The doctors told me all that last night but I think it will take time for me to believe it. Charlie is a lot better now and playing as if nothing ever happened :-)

Please pop over to Dream Valley to join in all the fun!

Dream Valley Challenge 86 - Summer!

Hiya!

It's time for another challenge at Dream Valley and this time our theme is

SUMMER!

I chose a pretty little image from LOTV - it doesn't matter how old I get, I think I will always enjoy going on the swings in summer. I just hope my boys stay young enough for me to tag along with them to the park for a good few years yet! :-)

A close up of the image....

Make sure you pop over to Dream Valley to see all the other summery creations by the rest of the DT!

Happy birthday, Madison!

Hiya!

I just wanted to share with you a card I made for my beautiful niece, Madison, whose birthday it is today :-) Happy birthday, Mads!

My sister has bought her a toy puppy for her birthday so when I saw this Lili of the Valley image, I just had to use it for her card:

The papers are also from LOTV - they're so cute!

I really enjoyed making this one - I hope you like it!

Dream Valley Challenge 64 - For a Child

Hi there!

I've just got back from the most wonderfully relaxing holiday in Yorkshire - absolutely beautiful! My hip is on the mend and I managed to get back in my craft room yesterday for the first time in aaaages :-) It wasn't this card I was making - I had to make sure I had this one ready before my op in case I wasn't able to craft - but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I went to the Lili of the Valley shop on my way up North and spent all of my holiday money before I even got to Yorkshire :-) Beautiful, beautiful shop. I could have spent the whole week there. I'll show you what I bought over my next few posts.....

Anyway, it's time for another challenge from Dream Valley and this time we'd like to see your creations

For A Child!

Now, this one is easy for me. With two young boys at school I'm always making birthday cards for their friends, so this is for my little Charlie's friend, Poppy!

I've used a cute little image from Digistamp Boutique....

I've cut out the letters and number using my fave Bang! Zoom! alphabet dies from sizzix and added a little faux stitching. Hope you like!

Please pop over to Dream Valley to see what the rest of the DT have made :-)

Dream Valley Challenge 62 - Summer Days!

Hiya!

So, how appropriate is this challenge then??? We're having the best summer we've had in years and I'm loving it! :-)

When I saw this little fella in Digistamp Boutique I just had to snap him up (mainly because I want to share his ice-cream!). This card is for one of Charlie's nursery friends and I thought it was just the ticket for our Summer Days theme at Dream Valley....

A close up of the image so you can see all the sparkly glitter on the yummy ice-cream :-)

Now, I'm supposed to be recovering from an operation on my dodgy hip that I was supposed to have yesterday but unfortunately it got cancelled :-( Now I need to wait till Friday - not too long to wait, I suppose, but I'd got myself all worked up and prepared for it! I hope it all goes according to plan this time so that I can get it all over and done with in time for a job interview the week after.... Fingers crossed!!! It doesn't stop, does it? :-)

In the meantime, make sure you pop over to Dream Valley and check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT - there are some really gorgeous makes to see!

Dream Valley Challenge 49 - Girls, Girls, Girls!

Hiya!

Hope you're enjoying the snow :-) I've scheduled this post as at this moment I am likely to be recovering from a fab girlie night out!  To celebrate our weight loss, the "fat club" I attend is holding a dinner dance so we've all got pretty posh dresses in our new sizes - can't wait!

The new challenge from Dream Valley is all about Girls, Girls, Girls (how appropriate!) so I thought I'd share a card with you that I made for one of George's school friends.  I love any excuse to get out the pinks.....

A close up of the image.....

You can join in with any of your girlie creations so make sure you pop over and join in the fun! And if you're good I might share a piccie with you of me in my posh dress :-)

For a little boy I know....

Hiya,

Yes, I know, still going! This is the last card I've got for you at the moment though (well it's not, but I've "misplaced" the photos of some of the others and I can't very well post without the photos, can I???)

This is for a friends little boy who had his birthday at the beginning of June.

Luke is one of the sweetest, friendliest, most helpful boys I've ever met (and being an ex-teacher, I've met a fair few!) I just hope he stays that way when he becomes a teenager. I've got a teenage son myself and he.... erm.... is different from before his teenage years. Still special, but definitely different! :-)

You may have seen my monochrome version of this a few days ago.... I don't mind doing a red shirt. I just won't do blue! :-)

Tomorrow's post will be a little bit different from my usual stuff....

Hope to see you again!

More little monsters.....and an award!

Hiya!

Just a quick post to show you some of the cards I've been making while I've apparently disappeared off the face of the Earth!

I loved making George's Little Monster card so much that I made a few more.... Got a bit of a paper piecing bug too :-)

Close up of the image....

and sentiment from Sentiments 4 You.....

And one for Charlie's little friend at playgroup....

Oooops - he's got a wobbly tooth!

And I also want to say a huge thank you to Diane for giving me this lovely award:

I really feel like I don't deserve it because I've been a really bad blogger lately. To try and make it up I'm offering this to ALL my lovely followers. Hopefully normal service will be resumed at some point in April after all the wedding excitement has died down :-)

I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for Dream Valley and I'm putting together a tutorial that someone has asked me for so I'd better get to it!

My Little Monster

Hiya,

Today is my little monster's 6th birthday! Happy birthday, George!!!! This is the card I made for him using a new set of stamps I got called My Little Monsters from Recollections.

I paper pieced him using papers from the Rich Green collection from Papermania - the first paper pack I ever bought! I'm surprised I've got any left :-)

The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You....

Then some ribbon, a button and some card candi.... Simple! Love the colours though. I've always been wary of using red and green together since my tutor yelled at me for doing it in a presentation at uni (because of red-green colour blindness....) but I really like this one!

A BIG Thank You

I just want to thank everyone for their patience while I flit in and out of blogland..... My posts are few and far between and my commenting is getting worse! I completely missed my blogaversary altogether!!! To make up for it I will be offering some candy to my lovely loyal followers once I'm back from our honeymoon :-) The wedding is creeping up on me quite quickly now and I've still got so much to do - eeeek!

I'll be back again when I've got a spare moment :-)

One post, two cards....

Hiya!

Hope you are all well!

I've got to make this post a quick one so forgive me if I skip the small talk and some of the details.... If there's anything you want to know, please ask!

I love this image from LOTV - it's called  Big Present. I followed a sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

Close up:

Sentiment from Sentiments 4 You:

Challenges:
Crafty Ribbons - One for the men/boys

My second card uses a poor neglected stamp of mine: Luvvie from Sugar Nellie. The sentiment is Sentiments 4 You again!

I'm not quite happy with this one though.... The colours bled when I coloured and Charlie "helped" me with the 3D gloss.... :-(

I do like the rolled rose though - I used a fabric swatch my sister gave me from where she works. Love it!

Challenges:
CRAFT - Valentines Day
Cards for men - seeing red
Creative inspirations - lots of love
Fab n funky - love is in the air
Paperplay - love letters
Simon says stamp - love is in the air

Right, I'm off to make a nice warm lunch!  Have a fab day :-)

Just for Roo x

Hiya!

I'm sending a parcel of goodies to my brother's with a mixture of birthday and Christmas goodies so I needed to get my nephew's birthday card made in plenty of time.... It's not his birthday for a month yet! My nephew's name is Richard but we all call him Roo so this is Just For Roo! :-)

I've been searching through all my crafty stash and found my Tatty Teddy stuff that I've barely used since I got it - naughty, naughty! So I thought I'd make good use of it for this card....

The hidden tag completes the sentiment....

A close up....

And a better piccie of the image....

I used:
Image - Tatty Teddy, Me to You
Promarkers
Papers - Me to You
Peel offs - Me to You
Sizzix tag die
Buttons - Papermania
Cord - Stash

Challenges:
CRAFT - Stars in your eyes
Sarah Hurley - Buttons
Sketch 'n' Stash - Fab sketch (neglected stash: Me to You range)
Whoopsi Daisy - Colours of Winter

Right, I'm off to visit your lovely blogs while listening to the fab concert for Children in Need!!! Brilliant so far. I sold all my Pudsey Bear calendars by the way - all 40 of them! I'm quite pleased with myself :-) I hope they raise lots of money!!!

Love 'n' hugs,
