Dream Valley Challenge 51 - Ribbon & Bling

Hiya!

Oooops! Which naughty girl forgot to post her Dream Valley Challenge post yesterday???? Erm, that would be me! Sorry! The kids are off school and I seem to be spending every spare moment making a dinosaur.... Yes, really.... Photos to follow.... :-)

Anyway, this challenge is all about Ribbon & Bling! Ohhhh lovely! We all like a bit of that now, don't we? Due to a little mix up with some dates, this challenge will actually last for three weeks rather than the usual two so all the more time to get your entries in!

I started making this card for a pal of mine recently and I started with just a few gems round the swirls.... Before I knew it I was totally carried away and 45 minutes later this is how many there were!

I don't think I've ever spent 45 minutes sticking little sparkles on before, and I'm not sure if I'd do it again, but I'm very pleased with how they turned out :-)

Right, I'm off to plan how to stick a dino's head and tail to its body.... I may be some time! While I'm gone pop over to Dream Valley and have a nosey at all the Ribbon & Bling going on over there :-)

Dream Valley Challenge 50 - Valentine's!

Hiya!

My goodness! Is it that time of year already??? I'm still not straight after Christmas! But yes, it's time to start making those gorgeous cards for your loved ones because Dream Valley has a fab Valentine's challenge :-)

I've been working on trying to make some CAS cards I'm happy with cos I've never quite mastered the technique.... I'm not too disappointed with this one!  I decided to ditch the traditional reds and pinks and try a nice homely brown and cream colour scheme.... What do you think? Does it work?

I finished off the sentiment inside with a little handwritten piece. I tried to match the style of the stamp on the front... Erm, could be better....

And just for those of you who asked for the piccie of me in my pretty dress at my ball a couple of weeks ago..... I'm in the red and my fabulous friend Vicki is in the black and white. I owe her a lot. If it wasn't for Vicki I would still be frumping around, complaining about my weight and never doing anything about it. Thank you, Vicki - Love ya!

Anyway, pop over to Dream Valley and look at all the lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT....

Dream Valley Challenge 49 - Girls, Girls, Girls!

Hiya!

Hope you're enjoying the snow :-) I've scheduled this post as at this moment I am likely to be recovering from a fab girlie night out!  To celebrate our weight loss, the "fat club" I attend is holding a dinner dance so we've all got pretty posh dresses in our new sizes - can't wait!

The new challenge from Dream Valley is all about Girls, Girls, Girls (how appropriate!) so I thought I'd share a card with you that I made for one of George's school friends.  I love any excuse to get out the pinks.....

A close up of the image.....

You can join in with any of your girlie creations so make sure you pop over and join in the fun! And if you're good I might share a piccie with you of me in my posh dress :-)

Dream Valley Challenge 48 - Anything goes!

Hiya!

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a lovely restful Christmas with your families and loved ones. I know I did :-)

It's our first challenge of the year over at Dream Valley and our theme is Anything Goes!  I thought I'd start the year with a Wedding card...... New year, new beginning!

The image is from LOTV..... I followed the colour scheme of the day which was silver, black and white.  Unfortunately the silver mirror card is showing up a nasty orangey colour here cos of my harsh kitchen lights :-( But I hope you can still see the sparkle on the veil....

Hope you like!

Dream Valley Challenge 47 - Christmas

Hiya!

Happy Christmas!!!!

I'm in a lovely festive mood today.... I've been shopping for some Christmas goodies this morning, we baked gingerbread men yesterday and my son is constantly playing with a little penguin that sings "Have yourself a merry little Christmas". It's really cute at the moment but I expect it will wear thin by the end of the day!

Anyway, it's just the sort of day to be starting Dream Valley's month long Christmas challenge!

This is my offering:

I have used my favourite papers that I've bought this Christmas from Papermania. Love 'em! And then added a LOTV die cut square (well, it was, until I cut it into a circle!) - I bought plenty of these in advance to get myself a little ahead for the festive season :-)

And then went a little nuts distressing them all! Quite pleased with the results for such a quick card!

Don't forget to pop over to Dream Valley to join in all the festive fun :-)

Dream Valley Challenge 46 - Non traditional Christmas

Hiya,

Sorry, just a quick post today for Dream Valley cos I'm going Christmas shopping! :-)

Our challenge this time is non-traditional Christmas which I took to mean non-traditional colours so I've put aside my usual red, green and gold and gone for a more wintery blue and white scene:

I did the reflection of the reindeer by stamping onto acetate, lining up with the original and pressing down. The hills were made with distress inks and highlighted with glitter glue.  Hope you like it!

Dream Valley Challenge 45 - Anything Goes!

Hiya!

I'm back with another DT card for Dream Valley! Our challenge this time is the ever-popular:

ANYTHING GOES!

Absolutely anything you like :-) I love this challenge - we always get so many fab entries - can't wait to see them!

I've done an anniversary card using a gorgeous image from LOTV called The Little Things. I love it - it's so sweet :-) I've got these new papers that I was desperate to use (the name escapes me at the moment - sorry!) so I've coloured the image in mostly greys with just a hint of pink. I'm quite pleased with the results :-)

I'm still quite caught up in our last challenge (glitter and bling) so I glittered it to within an inch of its life, and then covered it in hearts cos I was desperate to use my new nesting heart dies too :-)

Hope you like!

Please pop over to Dream Valley and see what the rest of the DT have made - they're gorgeous!

Love 'n' hugs,
